Taught by Rachel Denbow of Smile and Wave!
About The Class:
Round weavings present unique design challenges to even the most seasoned frame loom weaver but are a fun way to expand your weaving skills! In this workshop, students will learn to prepare their hoop, warp their hoop, practice plain weave, soumak, and rya knots, and finish off with wrapping their hoop.
We'll talk about the major differences between weaving on a hoop versus a rectangular loom such as composition, space adjustments between warp rows, and a few ways to experiment when they go home. Hoops and high quality fibers will be provided, as well as examples of past work. Students will also receive a .pdf of the workshop design to reference at home.
No prior weaving experience is necessary.
