HAVE SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT A MEMBERSHIP AT BROAD SHOP?

Q: How do I get started? 

A: Complete the Membership Contract, W-9, Member Education Form, and drop off product the first week of May.


Q: Who do I contact regarding questions about my shelf?

A: Email our Shop Director at hello@broadshopatx.com


Q: How long will my shelf commitment last? 

A: The initial commitment is three months, after which you will move to a month-to-month contract. To cancel, you will need to provide written 30 days notice. You will automatically receive a payment invoice the month prior, which must be executed within five days. For example, you will receive your June invoice on May 1st, which must be executed by May 6th. If you wished to cancel for June, you would need to provide written notice on or by May 1st.


Q: How will I be charged for my shelf rental?

A: You will receive a Square invoice at your locked rate. During the three-month commitment, you will have the option to pay in full upfront, or pay in monthly installments. Once the contract moves to month-to-month, you will pay on a monthly basis. 


Q: Can I meet with clients in the shop outside of shop hours?

A: Yes! To schedule private showings, you will coordinate with the Shop Director at hello@broadshopatx.com. An employee of Broad Shop or Broad Studios will always be in the space during private showings. 


Q: How does the payment process work?

A: To begin, you will fill out a W-9 form at onboarding, to track annual sales. You set your price, including tax, at drop-off. You keep 100% of the sales price. Broad Shop LLC will pay-ou/transfer sale funds every two weeks, along with a sales report. At the end of the year, we will issue you a 1099 form, which will include all sales. It is your responsibility to pay all appropriate sales tax. 


Q: What is the return policy?

A: No returns, refunds or exchanges. However, on a case by case basis, we will work with a client and individual artist to ensure everyone has a satisfactory experience. 

Q: My work hangs on the wall, how do I know how many “shelves” I should apply for?

A: We’re calculating wall space similarly to the size of each “shelf”, which is roughly 20”x30” with some wiggle room.


Q: Do my items need tags or labels, signage, or other display materials?

A: Broad Shop will provide price tags and education labels featuring product highlights. Any additional marketing copy providing brief information about your products are highly encouraged, and should be emailed to hello@broadshopatx.com


Q: How do I know when and how much I need to restock?

A: You will receive an itemized sales report with your pay out every other week, so it is a good idea to keep these and have your own system of tracking inventory so that you can keep things stocked and moving. If you lose track or need a quick answer you can always stop by and have a look or email us requesting a copy of your sales reports and/or current inventory. 


Q: Do I need to set up a meeting with someone to restock?

A: Please feel free to stop by any time that is best for you, within normal shop hours, with your additional items. If you are considering making any big changes such as presenting items of a completely different nature than what you have already displayed at the shop, please email to meet with us first to make sure it’s going to be a good fit for the shop. We love receiving photos of new items you’re working on!


Q: Can my merchandise be marked down or put on sale?

A: We don’t have sales/discounts, but you are free to adjust your pricing to whatever works for you, at any time. 

 

Q: What do I do if I need to pick up items?

A: You are welcome to take/replace items at any time, during regular shop hours. If you will be removing your entire shelf for any reason, we ask that you please send a heads up, so we can plan to merchandise accordingly.


Q: What can I do to help my merchandise sell?

A: Timely restocks as items sell - we can’t sell it for you, if it isn’t there! Sharing on social media, and using Broad Shop as your go-to for client meetings and product inquiries.
